Hi! I am Alexa and I am a sophomore at St. John's University, enrolled in the St. Johns College of Liberal Arts and Sciences as a Environmental Studies major and a Criminal Justice minor in the College of Professional Studies. I am a recipient of the Scholastic Excellence Award scholarship on campus. I am a commuter student and live about 40 minutes from campus, but I still remain very involved.
I am involved in LOTS of things on campus. I am the secretary of TARA - The Animal Rights Association. I love working with this organization, because animals are my passion. I am also on the board for the Hellenic Society, aka Greek club on campus. St. John's really embraces diversity and multicultural organizations, and I am so happy to be apart of it. On top of that, I am on the PR committee for Habitat for Humanity, and design flyers for us to promote our charity events. In addition, a huge part of my presence on campus is sorority life. Last spring, I joined a greek organization and became the sisterhood chair for my sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon. I am responsible for planning events that allow the "sisters" in my sorority to bond and grow.
Since I don't live on campus and have a job, it is harder for me to have a campus presence. But, I love my life on campus, and it makes my long commute worth it. I would love to show other students this side of my university, and encourage them join in on the fun.
